Opening Statement:

Lucy Edwards is truly an inspiration not only to the blind disabled community in the UK, but around the world. As a blind person, Lucy promotes her dedication on “Changing How the World Views Blindness.” She is a Content Creator, Disability Activist, Broadcaster, and a former Law Student until she needed to drop out of law school because of stress and her mental health. After dropping out of law school, Lucy decided to become a journalist. It was amazing to read and learn more about Lucy and her sister who has Autism. Lucy feels she is her sisters voice and her sister is her mirror and eyes. Lucy learned to communicate for them both, even though she couldn’t see.


More About Lucy

· Lucy Edwards is a UK based blind broadcaster, content creator, Pantene Ambassador and disability activist who is usually accompanied by her cute guide dog Molly.

· At the age of 17 Lucy lost her vision due to a rare condition called Incontinentia Pigmenti.

· Every day she educates her audience through entertaining short videos all about blindness amassing over 300 million views.

· She also is a regular consultant to global brands such as Google, TikTok, Proctor & Gamble, Unilever, Samsung, Estée Lauder and more. This marks Lucy as a leader for the worldwide movement for universal design.

· Her motto to life is that she is ‘blind, not broken.’


Lucy’s Shocking Statement

People are often shocked when Lucy Edwards states, “That going blind was the best thing that ever happened to her.” Lucy often expresses, she feels more empowered today than she has ever been. However, Lucy also admits, it was a long and winding road to get here.


Closing Statement:

What more can I say except…I was blown away after reading the many articles written about Lucy. I often view her YouTube and TikTok videos. She does not give up with spreading awareness about blindness and that there is no need to give up on anything, especially yourself!
